I believe that I have to cancel or rearrange a lesson with less than 48 hours’ notice and because of unavoidable circumstances (e.g., illness, bad weather, emergency…), will I still have to pay for the lesson?
If you feel you have a genuine reason to cancel a lesson within the cancellation period then please contact your teacher directly and they will decide whether to charge you for the lesson on a case-by-case basis. Of course, teaching piano is a an incredibly rewarding privilege but it is also a form of income that your teacher depends on. That being said, life can be messy and your teacher will strive to be compassionate when it’s necessary.

I am currently halfway through my current lesson block – does this mean I will have to immediately pay for a new block of lessons and lose all the other lessons I paid for?
Not at all! As we transfer from the old way of booking lessons to using the SPA website your teacher will register the lessons left on your block as free on the booking system. For example, if you have received the first 3 lessons of your block of 4 lessons already, then your teacher will register your next lesson on the system as free of charge. If you think you have lost lessons on your block or are being charged more than you should be then contact your teacher directly.

Can I rearrange a lesson with less than 48 hours’ notice and not lose the payment?
In most cases the answer is “no”. If you want to move a lesson to a different time (rearrange) with less than 48 hours’ notice this means that your teacher will most likely not be able to fill that lesson slot time anymore and would lose out on their income. So, unfortunately, unless it’s due to unavoidable circumstances (see above), rearranging a lesson with less than 48 hours’ notice is treated the same as cancelling a lesson with less than 48 hours’ notice.

Can I pay for lessons in cash?
Yes, of course! If you pay for your lessons in cash in advance then your teacher will book you in for your lessons as normal. However, the preferred method of payment is still bank transfer.
