No two students learn the same
so why should we teach the same?
Making Piano Personal
All of our teachers are accomplished pianists and pedagogues but, as you can read in the “Tutors” section, each one has their own specialisms.
Regardless of their niche, however, your teacher will work with you to achieve your specific goals behind the piano. One of the beautiful things about music is that there are always various ways to learn one concept. If you don’t “get it” the first time then we will make sure you do the next time round!
Your teacher will also work with you to create a personalised practise programme that is under constant revision as you progress.

Tom is a great teacher who is very knowledgeable, patient and accomodating. I started lessons from him as a relative beginner and after nearly 6 months I feel my knowledge and abilities have rapidly improved. I look forward to continuing to get better under his tuition. Would definitely recommend to students of any skill level.

Tom’s teaching approach is professional, friendly and centred around my needs. I thoroughly enjoy each session and although at first I was nervous about learning to play piano he quickly helped me to see it as a worthwhile and fun challenge!

Tom has made my relearning of the piano after 30 years an absolute delight. He immediately put me at ease and made my first lesson interesting, informative and fun. As a consequence I have booked him weekly and am enjoying the challenge of playing the piano with relish. Tom is an excellent teacher, asking challenging questions yet knowing how far to push me. If you want to learn the piano then Tom is your tutor. Not only is he a talented pianist he is a really supportive tutor.

I can highly recommend Tom Hawkins. I was a complete novice - one of those people who had always wanted to learn to play the piano but never did. I eventually made a start after receiving a gift voucher for a few trial lessons. That was two and a half years ago! Tom is an excellent teacher. I couldn't read music and hadn’t played an instrument before. It was quite daunting. But Tom is always encouraging and patiently guides me onwards each lesson and onto the next steps. If I feel I’ve fallen back in any way he helps me revise what I think I’ve forgotten. Learning piano is one of the best things I've ever done. Thanks Tom!

Highly recommend Tom; his love and enthusiasm for piano is so contagious that I can’t help but enjoy learning to play in a relaxed environment and feel inspired every lesson to improve. Currently studying for A levels so it is a critical year for me and Tom structures my lessons specifically to my pace and abilities. He records all my lessons so I can recall anything I might have forgotten which is really helpful, appreciate it a lot. Tom is a cheerful, engaging and brilliant tutor

I have had lessons with Tom for a while now. I have found him to be patient and understanding of my frustrations when I forget things or when they don't go to plan. Seriously though Tom's a top lad and I would recommend him to anyone from beginner to accomplished player I'm always at ease and the lessons are great and I'm learning much more than just playing the piano. Sometimes you know when you're onto a good thing and Tom is definitely a good thing
